What Is the Cost of Tiger Schulmanns Martial Arts

  1. I've been taking classes at Tiger Schulmann during the trial calendar month menses (ane month for $99). My month is almost upward then the sensei tried to get me to sign up for more classes. I've ever heard this place is expensive, but I couldn't believe HOW expensive! Basically, I could buy a car for what they desire me to pay, or fifty-fifty get a masters degree. I'thou going to finish up my month and then try to find someplace else to train. This is my first experience in MA so I'm hoping I can find a school that doesn't charge so much. Crazy!
  2. My experience of Tiger Schulmann was this. I went to Connetticut on holiday and visited ane of the classes (wanted to run into what martial arts in U.s.a. was like). I spoke to a woman named Maggie. She was a chocolate-brown belt going fro a her black chugalug. I asked her how long she had been preparation and she said 'on and off' for 5 years.

When I asked her if she felt that the art was adept for her, she replied that she could hands handle someone like me (snigger snigger).

Information technology was apparent that she had a bare minimum of the basics. I watched the sensei take a class and lead them in grappling drills. It was the funniest thing I accept ever seen. There was no structure to the course, there was no agreement of the drills they were doing, and the students were performing the drills poorly. The instructor himself seemed of good quality and I assumed that this must exist a beginners class. When I asked more,I was told that these were the top students and had been practising for 10-12 years

I have no idea of the prices (I never asked), but thought it was a shame that this was all America had to offer in the Connetticut area

  3. Absolutely and totally NOT true !!!

  4. I'm sorry, merely information technology is true. At that place are some extremely talented martial artists out there and it would appear that Tiger Schlumann is i of them

However, his teaching left something to be desired. His students were poor and hopefully did not stand for all that America had to offer. Allow's put it this way - I would have taken them all out and I consider myself to be an average martial artist

This is an unbiased opinion - I am not American, I like Karate simply haven't washed information technology for a while, and have no connections with Mr Schlumann

  5. Yohan

Yep, however, U.k. does have a rich, flourishing martial arts community, especially in CMA, of which I am jealous.

If you want help finding more schools in your area, mail service up your location and I will assistance you lot out.

  6. I wasn't having a popular at American Karate (I accept non seen every fashion it has to offer), and I would not say British Karate is the best although it is certainly very very proficient

  7. What I hateful't is that this is NOT all that America has to offer in the Connecticut surface area !
  8. That says it all. Only someone that doesn't train in whatsoever kind of realistic environment would be so overly confident in their art equally to say that
  9. Such a broad sweeping argument to brand after visiting one school in Connecticut (notice the spelling). Actually, you should know better. I would never dream nearly making such a argument nearly British MA after visiting ane school.
Say what you want well-nigh a school, you are entitled to your opinion. But, continue the stance to the 1 school you visited.

  10. I live in fundamental NJ. I'm planning to check out a few other schools in the next couple of weeks, but all I really tin find around here are McDojo karate schools.

I'm not maxim TSK is bad. The classes I've been to were adept and I felt I was learning something and getting a good workout. It'south just the price is way as well high. I can't justify spending thousands of dollars on karate lessons when I have other bills to pay. They should take a different payment organization where you can get month to month with no contracts. I'm not signing anything that holds me to making payments for years. That'south only stupid.

  11. Exactly! And yes if I had a dime for every person that spells my land incorrectly!! ;)

Anyhow, peculiarly in the area of "Connecticut" I live in.... the schools of Karate are as diverse as the style.

This is by no ways a complete list .... but there is only i TS school that appears on this list http://world wide web.jumpkicks.com/list/ct.htm

Try this link HK ...New Jersey Karate Schools

  12. from what i know Tiger has some adept fighters who enter competitions. but I accept besides heard that he just "bought" these people so they would give his schools a meliorate rep.
  13. My apologies. I am not used to how your country works with the whole state/towns affair. I meant that the boondocks I was in at the time!! I thought Connetticut (apologies for the spelling) was the equivalent of a city (D'oh).

This was non meant to be a slant on American Karate (MMA in general) - you produced Frank Dux, Steven Segal and Chuck Norris for heavens sake!

What I meant was I was disappointed that this was the only school for miles around and seemed to accept a lot of members who were being taught bad

  14. err well segal and dux dont do karate... and i dont recollect dux is anything anyone would boast about :D
  15. Hey you lot've fixed my quote at the bottom of your messages!! Nice one!

I empathize that Segal was a student of karate when he was pedagogy in Japan. All the same, I was talking virtually MMA in general.

If for goose egg else information technology was Dux's story that inspired 'Bloodsport' which is a classic picture show, not for the MA merely the storyline between Donald Gibb and Dux!!

Nook sung kau...nook sung kau...nook sung kau

  16. ok, but none of them take anything to practice with MMA either... and I havent changed my signature, its withal in its gloriously ignorant original form.
  17. Was it fake? I haven't heard annihilation to say that information technology is true or false (except the embrace which says 'based on a true story')

  18.

Keep over to e-budo.com and do a search for Dux ;) and do a search in the MAP Ninjutsu forum for him!

  19. Well my state is indeed pocket-sized but not that small..... and in fact is loaded with martial art schools... most especially "karate" schools.

So if that schoolhouse was packed with students, I tin merely assume they were happy with the quality of education and the owner is well trained in MA business direction.

America has turned out many fine and respected martial artists over the years.... I don't believe this thread is really about that though ;)
